![]() ![]() The Mayor and/or Township Committee appoints volunteers to serve on the many Boards and Commissions which assist the Township with its duties and responsibilities to the community. All public meetings have time allotted for members of the public to speak on any issues they wish to address to the Township Committee. Township right-of-ways are also maintained by this Division through grass cutting, street sign repairs, and street sweeping. The Streets and Roads Division provides road repairs and pavement maintenance to maximize travel safety. ![]() One meeting per month is a workshop meeting where the Committee discusses and debates proposed resolutions, ordinances and other policy matters. Garbage collection in Freehold Township is contracted privately by each resident. The Mayor presides at meetings of the Township Committee. The Township Committee meets approximately two or three times per month at 8 p.m., in the Municipal Building. These powers can take the form of a resolution, ordinance or proclamation. All legislative powers of the Township are exercised by the Township Committee.
